UCSL Graduate & Technician Apprentices Recruitment 2024

Vacancy & Pay Scale:

Applications are invited for a total of 07 vacant posts under the following categories:

Category I: Graduate Apprentices

• Disciplines and Vacancies:
  • Electrical Engineering: 2
  • Mechanical Engineering: 1
• Stipend: ₹12,000 per month + meals allowance.

Category II: Technician (Diploma) Apprentices

• Disciplines and Vacancies:
  • Electrical Engineering: 2
  • Electronics Engineering: 1
  • Mechanical Engineering: 1
• Stipend: ₹10,200 per month + meals allowance.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualifications:

1. Graduate Apprentices:
   • A Degree in Engineering or Technology in the relevant discipline granted by a recognized university, statutory body, or institution empowered to award such degrees.
2. Technician (Diploma) Apprentices:
   • A Diploma in Engineering or Technology in the relevant discipline granted by a State Council, Board of Technical Education, or recognized institution.

Additional Notes:

• Candidates with equivalent qualifications must produce an equivalency certificate issued by the competent authority.
• Candidates should have passed their qualifications in 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, or 2024.

Age Limit:

• Above 18 years as of January 30, 2025.

Physical Standards:

• As prescribed in Clause 4 of the Apprenticeship Rules, 1992, and amendments thereof.

Previous Training:

• Candidates who have already undergone or are currently undergoing apprenticeship training in any organization are not eligible.

Duration of Training

• Apprenticeship Period: 1 year, as per the Apprentices (Amendment) Act 1973.

Selection Process

1. Shortlisting:
   • Based on the percentage of marks obtained in the qualifying examination.
   • In case of a tie, seniority based on the year of passing will be considered.
2. Certificate Verification:
   • Shortlisted candidates must bring original and self-attested copies of documents for verification, including proof of age, qualification, marks, and caste (if applicable).
   • Only those who clear the verification process will be considered for selection.
3. Final Selection:
   • Based on merit order and reservation criteria, subject to medical fitness.

1. Online Registration:
   • Register and apply via the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS) portal: https://nats.education.gov.in.
   • For candidates already registered in the old NATS portal, follow the activation steps on the new portal.
2. Steps for Application:
   • Login to the NATS portal.
   • Search for “Udupi Cochin Shipyard Limited” under advertised vacancies.
   • Complete the application form and submit it online.
3. Important Notes:
   • Ensure accurate entry of marks and personal details.
   • Keep a copy of the application for reference.
