Pay Scale: Pay Matrix Level 11 (Pre-revised PB-3 + Grade Pay ₹6600)

Eligibility Criteria:

Officers under the Central Government, State Governments, Universities, Recognized Research Institutions, Public Sector Undertakings, Statutory or Semi-Government or Autonomous Organizations:

• Holding analogous posts on a regular basis; OR
• With five years of regular service in posts in Level-9 or equivalent; OR
• With eight years of regular service in posts in Level-6 or equivalent.

Educational Qualifications:

Essential:

• Master’s degree in Statistical Mathematics, Operations Research, Physics, Economics/Commerce (with Statistics), or Degree in Engineering/Computer Science from a recognized university or equivalent.
• 7 years of experience in electronic data processing work, out of which at least 3 years should be in actual programming on electronic computers.

Desirable:

• Formal training in computer programming/system design/analysis.

Note 1: Qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of the UPSC in case of candidates who are otherwise well-qualified.

Note 2: Experience qualification is relaxable at the discretion of the UPSC for candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes, provided the UPSC thinks that sufficient candidates from these communities with the requisite experience are not likely to be available to fill the vacancies reserved for them.

Important Information:

• Deputation Period: The period of deputation, including the period of deputation in another ex-cadre post held immediately preceding this appointment, shall not exceed 3 years.
• Pay/Deputation Allowance: Pay fixation and deputation (duty) allowance will be governed by instructions issued by DoPT, OM No. 5/8/2009-Estt (Pay-II) dated 17.06.2010, as amended from time to time.
