Mode of Selection
The selection process for this examination involves multiple stages, with strict adherence to qualifying criteria and specific regulations at each stage. Below are the key details regarding the selection process:
1. Minimum Qualifying Marks in Computer-Based Examination:
- UR (Unreserved): 30%
- OBC/EWS: 25%
- All Other Categories: 20%
2. Shortlisting for Paper-II: Candidates will be shortlisted for Paper-II based on their performance in Paper-I (Computer-Based Examination). This shortlisting will be done category-wise.
3. Final Selection Criteria: The final selection of candidates will be based on their combined performance in both Paper-I and Paper-II. Separate category-wise cut-offs will be applied to both papers.
4. Post and Department Allocation: The allocation of ministries, departments, or organizations will be done based on the candidate’s merit and preferences. Once a post is allotted, no further changes will be made, regardless of any post-specific requirements such as physical, medical, or educational standards. Candidates must carefully consider their preferences, as they will be treated as final and irreversible.
5. Category-wise Considerations:
- General/Unreserved Candidates: SC, ST, OBC, EWS, ESM, and PwBD candidates who qualify on their own merit will be considered for general/unreserved vacancies, without adjusting them against the reserved quota.
- Relaxed Standards: Candidates who qualify using relaxed standards will be counted against reserved vacancies. Relaxations in age, experience, or other criteria will not qualify them for unreserved vacancies.
- PwBD Candidates: If a person with a benchmark disability qualifies on merit, they can be appointed to unreserved vacancies, provided the post is suitable for their disability category.
6. Probation Period: Candidates selected for appointment will undergo a probationary period of two years. During this period, they may be required to complete certain training or examinations. Upon successful completion of probation, candidates will be confirmed in their posts.
7. All India Service Liability (AISL): Selected candidates may be posted anywhere in India as per the service liability. Candidates must also acquire proficiency in the local language of the State/UT/Zone they are allotted.
8. No Waiting List: The SSC does not maintain a waiting list or reserve panel for multifactor examinations. Therefore, there will be no waiting list or reserve list for this examination. Any unfilled vacancies will be carried forward by the respective user departments to subsequent recruitment cycles.
This selection process ensures transparency and fair competition, with clear guidelines for post-allocation and category-based considerations. Candidates must be diligent in meeting all eligibility requirements and completing their probation period to secure permanent appointments.
