The Gujarat Power Corporation Limited (GPCL) is recruiting for 20 Posts of various contractual at the Ghogha Surkha Lignite Mining Project in Bhavnagar. The posts include Mines Manager, Assistant Manager, Mines Surveyor, Mining Sirdar, Electrician, and more. The application process will start on January 20, 2025, and end on February 5, 2025. Selected candidates will initially be appointed for 11 months, with the possibility of extension based on performance.

Eligibility Criteria:

1. Mines Manager (1st Class)

  • Qualification: 1st Class Coal Mines Manager’s Competency Certificate under CMR 1957/2017, preferably with a degree/diploma in Mining Engineering.
  • Experience: At least 2 years in opencast coal/lignite mining after obtaining the certificate.
  • Age Limit:
    • General/EWS: 48 years
    • OBC: 51 years
    • SC/ST: 53 years

2. Assistant Manager (1st Class)

  • Qualification: 1st Class Coal Mines Manager’s Competency Certificate under CMR 1957/2017, preferably with a degree/diploma in Mining Engineering.
  • Experience: At least 1 year in opencast coal/lignite mining after obtaining the certificate.
  • Age Limit: Same as above.

3. Assistant Manager (2nd Class)

  • Qualification: 2nd Class Coal Mines Manager’s Competency Certificate under CMR 1957/2017, preferably with a degree/diploma in Mining Engineering.
  • Experience: At least 1 year in opencast coal/lignite mining after obtaining the certificate.
  • Age Limit: Same as above.

4. Mines Surveyor

  • Qualification: Coal Mine Surveyor’s Competency Certificate under CMR 1957/2017.
  • Experience: At least 2 years in opencast coal/lignite mining after obtaining the certificate.
  • Age Limit: Same as above.

5. Mining Sirdar

  • Qualification: Overman or Mining Sirdar Competency Certificate under CMR 1957/2017.
  • Age Limit: Same as above.

6. Electrician

  • Qualification: ITI Certificate of Wireman/Electrician.
  • Experience: At least 1 year of relevant work experience.
  • Age Limit: 35 years.

7. Colliery Engineer (Mechanical)

  • Qualification: Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience: At least 1 year in mechanized opencast lignite/coal mining.
  • Age Limit: Same as above (48/51/53 years).

8. Electrical Foreman/Supervisor

  • Qualification: Degree/Diploma in Electrical Engineering with Electrical Supervisor (Mines) Certificate from the authorized licensing board.
  • Age Limit: Same as above.

9. Medical Officer

  • Qualification: MBBS from a recognized institute approved by MCI.
  • Experience: Private practice/clinic experience may be considered. Internship not counted as experience.
  • Age Limit: Same as above.

10. Welfare Officer

  • Qualification:
    • Postgraduate degree in Social Work/Labour Welfare with at least 55% marks from a UGC-recognized university.
  • Experience: At least 3 years in HR, personnel management, industrial relations, or labor welfare in government/local bodies/PSUs.
  • Age Limit: Same as above.

Selection Process:

  • Computer-Based Test (CBT):
    • Total: 100 marks
    • Minimum Passing Marks: 40%
  • Personal Interview:
    • Applicable for Mines Manager, Assistant Managers, Medical Officer, and Welfare Officer.
  • Final Selection:
    • Based on combined scores of CBT and interviews (where applicable).
    • Merit list will be valid for 2 years.
