Eligibility Criteria for Haryana Teacher Eligibility Test (HTET) 2024
The Haryana Teacher Eligibility Test (HTET) 2024 is conducted by the Board of School Education Haryana (BSEH) to ensure candidates possess the aptitude and qualifications to teach at various levels in schools recognized by the Department of School Education, Haryana. Below are the detailed eligibility criteria for the recruitment:
Eligibility Levels
HTET is conducted for three levels:
- Level-I (Primary Teacher – PRT): Classes I-V
- Level-II (Trained Graduate Teacher – TGT): Classes VI-VIII
- Level-III (Post Graduate Teacher – PGT): Classes IX-XII
Eligibility Requirements:
1. For Level-I (Primary Teacher – Classes I to V):
- Educational Qualifications (Any one of the following):
- Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed/appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.).
- Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and passed/appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (as per NCTE regulations, 2002).
- Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed/appearing in the final year of a 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.).
- Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed/appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education).
- Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed/appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.).
- Language Proficiency:
- Matric with Hindi/Sanskrit or Senior Secondary/Graduation/Post Graduation with Hindi as one of the subjects.
2. For Level-II (TGT – Classes VI to VIII):
- Educational Qualifications (Any one of the following):
- Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed/appearing in the final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.).
- Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed/appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.).
- Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed/appearing in the final year of 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.).
- Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed/appearing in the final year of 4-year BA/B.Sc.Ed. or BA.Ed./B.Sc.Ed..
- Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed/appearing in a 1-year B.Ed. (Special Education).
- Language Proficiency:
- Matric with Hindi/Sanskrit or Senior Secondary/Graduation/Post Graduation with Hindi as one of the subjects.
3. For Level-III (PGT – Classes IX to XII):
- Educational Qualifications:
- Post Graduate Degree in the concerned subject with at least 50% marks from a recognized university.
- Passed B.Ed. or equivalent qualification.
- Additional Requirements:
- Matric with Hindi/Sanskrit or Senior Secondary/Graduation/Post Graduation with Hindi as one of the subjects.
Additional Notes
- Age Limit: No upper age limit is prescribed for HTET.
- Relaxations:
- Candidates from reserved categories are eligible for 5% relaxation in the minimum qualifying marks.
- Certificate Validity: HTET certification is valid for a lifetime.
- Attempt Limit: No restriction on the number of attempts to acquire the certificate.
- Candidates with Disabilities: Provisions such as additional time and scribes are available as per government norms.
