Southern Railway invites applications from eligible sportspersons for recruitment against Sports Quota for the year 2024-2025. A total of 67 posts are available across various pay levels ranging from Level 1 to Level 5 in the 7th Pay Commission Pay Matrix.

Overview:

Positions Available:

• Level 4/5: Athletics (Men/Women), Body Building, Chess, Weightlifting (5 posts)
• Level 2/3: Basketball, Body Building, Boxing, Cricket, Football, Swimming, Table Tennis, Volleyball (16 posts)
• Level 1: Athletics, Basketball, Body Building, Boxing, Football, Hockey, Swimming, Table Tennis, Weightlifting, Water Polo (46 posts)

Eligibility Criteria:

Age Limit:

• Candidates must be between 18-25 years as of 01-01-2025.
• Born between: 02-01-2000 and 01-01-2007 (both dates inclusive).

Educational Qualification:

• Level 1: 10th Pass or ITI or equivalent.
• Level 2/3: 12th Pass or equivalent or ITI for technical categories.
• Level 4/5: Graduation.

Sports Achievements:

• Candidates must have participated in recognized sports events such as World Championships, Asian Games, Commonwealth Games, National Championships, or other equivalent tournaments.
• Specific norms for sports achievements vary based on the pay level and discipline.

Selection Process:

• Trial Performance: Candidates will undergo a trial to assess their skills (40 marks).
• Evaluation: Further evaluation will consider sports achievements and educational qualifications (60 marks).
• Final Merit: Based on performance in trials and overall merit.

Application Fee:

• General Candidates: ₹500 (₹400 refunded after trials).
• SC/ST/Women/Ex-servicemen/EBC: ₹250 (₹250 refunded after trials).
