The Visva-Bharati University is recruiting for 01 Post of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) under a SERB-sponsored project focused on studying the role of specific pathways in diabetes-related complications. The project, led by Dr. Rakesh Kundu of the Department of Zoology, aims to explore the relationship between CD36 and Fetuin-A-TLR4 in pancreatic beta-cell inflammation and insulin deficiency. The position is available till October 2026, with an initial fellowship of Rs. 31,000 per month, which will increase to Rs. 35,000 later.

Applications are invited for a total of 1 vacant posts under the following category:

Fellowship- Rs. 31,000 per month (first 2 years), Rs. 35,000 per month (subsequent years).

Eligibility Criteria:

Educational Qualification: Applicants should have an MSc in Zoology, Animal Science, or any relevant subject with at least 55% marks. You must also have qualified in a national-level exam such as CSIR-UGC NET (LS), GATE, or any other equivalent examination.

Age Limit: The maximum age limit is 28 years. However, age relaxation of up to 5 years is provided for candidates from SC/ST/OBC/PWD categories and for women applicants, as per government rules.

Fellowship Details: The selected candidate will receive Rs. 31,000 per month for the first two years. After that, the salary will increase to Rs. 35,000 per month. Housing Rent Allowance (HRA) will be provided according to Visva-Bharati’s rules.

Selection Process:

The selection process for the Junior Research Fellow (JRF) post at Visva-Bharati University includes an online interview. After submitting the application, candidates will be shortlisted based on their qualifications and experience.
