UPSC Combined Medical Services Examination (CMSE) 2024

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) invites applications for the Combined Medical Services Examination (CMSE) 2024. This examination is conducted for the recruitment of medical officers in various government departments.

Total Vacancies: 827

1. Category-I

• Medical Officers Grade in General Duty Medical Officers Sub-cadre of Central Health Service – 163

2. Category-II

• (i) Assistant Divisional Medical Officer in the Railways. – 450
• (ii) General Duty Medical Officer in New Delhi Municipal Council. – 14
• (iii) General Duty Medical Officer Gr-II in Municipal Corporation of Delhi – 200

Eligibility Criteria:

• Age Limit: Candidates must not have attained the age of 32 years as of August 1, 2024. Age relaxation is applicable as per government rules.
• Educational Qualification: Candidates should have passed the written and practical parts of the final MBBS Examination.

Application Process:

1. Registration: Candidates must register on the One Time Registration (OTR) platform available on the UPSC website.
2. Application Form: After registration, fill out the online application form for CMSE 2024.
3. Application Fee:
   • General/OBC: ₹200
   • SC/ST/PwBD/Female: Exempted
4. Submission: Submit the application form before the deadline. No withdrawal of applications is allowed after submission.

Selection Process:

1. Written Examination: The exam consists of two papers, each carrying a maximum of 250 marks.
   • Paper I: General Medicine and Pediatrics
   • Paper II: Surgery, Gynecology & Obstetrics, Preventive & Social Medicine
2. Personality Test: Candidates who qualify in the written examination will be called for a Personality Test (Interview) carrying 100 marks.

Exam Pattern:

• Mode of Exam: Computer-based
• Duration: Each paper is of 2 hours
• Total Marks: 500 (250 marks for each paper)
