UPSC Combined Medical Service Examination Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must fulfill the eligibility criteria before applying for CMSE 2025.

Nationality Indian Citizen / Nepal / Bhutan / Tibetan Refugee (before 1962)
Age Limit Maximum 32 years (Relaxations as per category)

UPSC Combined Medical Service Examination Selection Process

The selection process consists of two stages:

  1. Written Examination (500 Marks)

    • Paper 1: General Medicine & Pediatrics (250 Marks)
    • Paper 2: Surgery, Gynaecology & Obstetrics, PSM (250 Marks)
    • Mode: Computer-Based Test (CBT)
  2. Personality Test (100 Marks)

    • Candidates who clear the written exam will be called for an interview to assess their general knowledge, leadership skills, and decision-making ability.
