Union Bank of India invites applications for the post of Local Bank Officer (LBO) in JMGS-I. The selected candidates will handle various banking operations, customer service, and financial management tasks in their designated locations.

Basic Pay Scale:
₹48,480 – ₹85,920 per month
(Incremental structure: ₹48,480 – ₹2,000 for 7 years – ₹62,480 – ₹2,340 for 2 years – ₹67,160 – ₹2,680 for 7 years – ₹85,920)
Additional Benefits:
- Special Allowance, Dearness Allowance, and other allowances as per the Bank’s policies.
- Eligibility for amenities like residential quarters or lease rent, Leave Fare Concession (LFC), reimbursement of medical/hospitalization expenses, and other perquisites as per Bank policies.
Job Responsibilities:
- Handling day-to-day banking operations, including customer service, account management, and financial transactions.
- Assisting in the implementation of banking policies, regulations, and procedures to ensure smooth functioning.
- Promoting financial products and services such as loans, credit cards, insurance, and investments to customers.
- Participating in community outreach programs to educate customers about banking products.
- Ensuring compliance with the bank’s guidelines and government regulations.
- Engaging in customer relationship management to enhance the Bank’s service quality.
Eligibility Criteria:
1. Age Limit:
- Minimum: 20 years
- Maximum: 30 years (as of October 1, 2024)
- Age relaxation is applicable for reserved categories as per government rules.
2. Educational Qualification:
- A full-time Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university or institution.
- Candidates must have a valid degree certificate and should indicate the percentage of marks obtained at the time of online registration.
3. Language Proficiency:
- Candidates must be proficient in reading, writing, and speaking the specified local language of the state applied for.
4. Nationality/Citizenship:
- Candidates must be Indian citizens or as specified under the government guidelines for certain neighboring countries (Nepal, Bhutan, etc.).
Selection Process:
The selection process will involve the following stages:
1. Online Examination:
- Reasoning & Computer Aptitude: 45 questions, 60 marks
- General/Economy/Banking Awareness: 40 questions, 40 marks
- Data Analysis & Interpretation: 35 questions, 60 marks
- English Language: 35 questions, 40 marks
- Descriptive Test (Letter Writing & Essay): 2 questions, 25 marks
- Total Duration: 3 hours and 30 minutes
- Penalty for Wrong Answers: 0.25 marks deducted for each incorrect answer.
2. Language Proficiency Test (LPT):
- Candidates must qualify for the Language Proficiency Test for the specified local language of the state applied for.
- Candidates with a 10th or 12th standard certificate evidencing the study of the specified local language are exempt.
3. Personal Interview:
- Candidates who qualify in the online examination and LPT will be shortlisted for an interview.
- Interview will carry 100 marks, with a minimum qualifying score of 40% (35% for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD candidates).
- The final selection will be based on a combined score of the online examination and the interview (80:20 ratio).
Probation Period:
Selected candidates will undergo a probation period of 2 years from the date of joining.
Service Indemnity Bond:
Candidates will be required to execute a service indemnity bond for ₹2,00,000 plus applicable taxes, agreeing to serve the Bank for a minimum period of 3 years.

- General/OBC/EWS: ₹850 (inclusive of GST)
