The Udupi Cochin Shipyard Limited (UCSL) is recruiting for 01 Post of Supervisor (Hindi Translator) on a contract basis. The candidate should have a Master’s Degree in Hindi with English as a compulsory optional subject and Post Graduate Diploma in Translation. Two years of experience in English to Hindi and Hindi to Hindi translation in a Government office or public sector is essential.

Monthly Salary (Consolidated):

• 1st year: ₹40,650
• 2nd year: ₹41,490
• 3rd year: ₹42,355
• 4th year: ₹43,246
• 5th year: ₹44,164

Eligibility Criteria:

Educational Qualification:

• You must have a Master’s Degree in Hindi from a recognized university.
• The degree should include English as one of the elective subjects.
• You should also have a Post-Graduate Diploma in Translation from a recognized institute.

Experience:

• The candidate must have at least 2 years of translation experience.
• Experience in translation from English to Hindi and vice versa is mandatory.

Age Limit: The upper age limit for the post will not exceed 45 years as on March 6, 2025, meaning applicants must have been born on or after March 7, 1980.

Selection Process:

Phase I – Written Test:

• Objective Test (40 marks): General and discipline-related topics.
• Descriptive Test (40 marks): Translation and language skills.
• Minimum 50% in total (40% for PwBD candidates) to qualify.

Phase II – PowerPoint Presentation (20 marks):

• Present work experience and translation skills.

Final Selection:

• Based on combined marks from Phase I and Phase II.
• Tie-breaking: Discipline test marks or age seniority.
• Certificate verification for selected candidates.
