Public Works Department (PWD), Tamil Nadu, invites online applications from eligible graduates and diploma holders in Engineering, as well as non-engineering graduates, for a one-year Apprenticeship Training under the Apprenticeship (Amendment) Act 1973. This is a unique opportunity to gain practical experience with a reputed government organization.

Category I: Graduate Apprentices (Engineering/Technology)

  • Civil Engineering: 460
  • Electrical and Electronics Engineering: 28
  • Architecture: 12
    Total: 500
• Monthly Stipend: ₹9,000
• Duration: One Year

Category II: Technician (Diploma) Apprentices (Engineering/Technology)

• Disciplines and Vacancies:
  • Civil Engineering: 150
  • Electrical and Electronics Engineering: 5
  • Architecture: 5
    Total: 160
• Monthly Stipend: ₹8,000
• Duration: One Year

Category III: Non-Engineering Graduate Apprentices

• Disciplines and Vacancies:
  • B.A., B.Sc., B.Com., BBA, BCA, BBM: 100
    Monthly Stipend: ₹9,000
    Duration: One Year

Eligibility Criteria:

Educational Qualifications:

1. Category I: Graduate Apprentices (Engineering/Technology)
   • Degree in Engineering or Technology (Full-time) from a recognized university or institution.
2. Category II: Technician (Diploma) Apprentices (Engineering/Technology)
   • Diploma in Engineering or Technology (Full-time) from a recognized board or institution.
3. Category III: Non-Engineering Graduate Apprentices
   • Full-time Degree in Arts, Science, Commerce, Humanities, or equivalent from a recognized university.

Additional Requirements:

• Candidates should have passed out during 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, or 2024.
• Candidates with prior apprenticeship experience or over one year of work experience are not eligible.

Age Limit:
As per Apprenticeship Rules.

Selection Procedure:

• Shortlisting based on academic performance in the qualifying examinations.
• Shortlisted candidates will be notified via their registered email and must attend Certificate Verification at PWD, Chennai.
