The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has released CEN No. 01/2025 for the recruitment of Assistant Loco Pilots (ALPs) across various zones for a total of 9970 vacancies. Eligible candidates can apply online for the Assistant Loco Pilots vacancy from April 12, 2025, to May 11, 2025, under the RRB ALP CEN 01/2025 Notification.

Applications are invited for a total of 9970 vacant posts under the RRB ALP CEN 01/2025 Notification for the following categories:

RRB ALP 2025 Eligibility Criteria:

To be eligible for the RRB ALP vacancy 2025, candidates should possess the following qualifications:

Educational Qualification:

Candidates must have:

• Matriculation/SSLC + ITI from recognized institutions in relevant trades (as per DGT norms) OR
• Diploma/Degree in Engineering (specific streams only)

Age Limit (as of 01 July 2025):

• Minimum Age: 18 years
• Maximum Age: 30 years

RRB ALP 2025 Selection Process:

1. Computer-Based Test 1 (CBT-1)

• Objective type | 75 questions | 60 mins
• Negative marking: 1/3 per wrong answer

2. Computer-Based Test 2 (CBT-2)

• Part A (100 questions, 90 min) Merit-based
• Part B (75 questions, 60 mins) – Qualifying (35% for all)

3. Computer-Based Aptitude Test (CBAT)

• Only for ALP | No negative marking
• 30% weightage for the final merit list

4. Document Verification (DV)

RRB ALP Syllabus 2025:

Stage 1: CBT-1 (Computer-Based Test – 1)

Subjects:

• Mathematics: Number system, BODMAS, Fractions, LCM, HCF, Ratio & Proportion, Time & Work, Simple & Compound Interest, Algebra, Mensuration, etc.
• Mental Ability: Analogies, Coding-Decoding, Syllogism, Data Interpretation, Decision Making, etc.
• General Science: Physics, Chemistry, Biology (10th standard level)
• General Awareness: Current Affairs, Sports, Technology, Politics, Economics, and Culture

Stage 2: CBT-2 (Divided into Part A & Part B)

Part A—Subjects:

• Mathematics (Same topics as CBT-1)
• General Intelligence & Reasoning
• Basic Science & Engineering: Engineering Drawing, Units, Speed, Power, Heat, Electricity, Environment, IT Literacy, etc.

Part B Subject (Qualifying in nature—35% marks required):

• Questions from relevant trade syllabus as per DGT (Directorate General of Training) norms. Example Trades: Fitter, Electrician, Mechanic Diesel, Wireman, etc.
