Tier-II (Descriptive Paper)

Essay Writing:

  • 200-250 words on topics related to social issues, national interest, current affairs, etc.

Letter/Application Writing:

  • Formal and informal letters, applications, complaints, etc.
  • The descriptive paper can be written in either English or Hindi.

Tier-III (Skill Test/Typing Test)

Typing Test for Lower Divisional Clerk/Junior Secretariat Assistant:

Typing Speed:

  • Candidates are required to type 35 words per minute in English or 30 words per minute in Hindi.
  • The typing test assesses speed and accuracy and is conducted on a computer.

Data Entry Speed Test (DEST) (If applicable):

  • In some cases, a DEST may be required, involving 8,000 key depressions per hour on a computer. The test duration is typically 15 minutes.

Note:

  • Exemptions: Certain candidates may be exempt from the typing test if they meet specific criteria (e.g., physically handicapped candidates).
  • Typing Test: The typing test is crucial for LDC/JSA roles, as it directly evaluates the practical skills needed for clerical and secretarial work.
