Rajasthan Public Service Commission RAS and RTS Exam Syllabus
The RPSC (Rajasthan Public Service Commission) conducts the RAS (Rajasthan Administrative Service) and RTS (Rajasthan Taxation Service) Combined Competitive Exam to recruit candidates for various administrative posts in the state government. The exam consists of three stages:
- Preliminary Examination
- Main Examination
- Personal Interview

1. Preliminary Examination
The Preliminary Exam is an objective-type test consisting of a single paper.
Paper: General Knowledge and General Science
- Total Marks: 200
- Time Duration: 3 hours

- Ancient, Medieval, and Modern History of Rajasthan.

Indian Polity, Constitution, Political System, and Governance
- Features of the Indian Constitution, Preamble, Fundamental Rights and Duties.
- Structure and functioning of the Union and State Governments.
- Panchayati Raj, Public Policy, Rights Issues.
- Important amendments and provisions of the Indian Constitution.
Geography of India and World
- Physical Geography: Landforms, climate, soil types, natural resources.
- Human Geography: Population, migration, urbanization.
- Economic Geography: Agriculture, industries, trade.
- Geography of Rajasthan: Physical features, climate, vegetation, rivers.
Indian Economy
- Basic concepts of economics, economic planning in India.
- Agriculture, industry, service sector in India.
- Economic reforms, liberalization, privatization, globalization.
- Economic planning and development in Rajasthan.
Science and Technology

2. Main Examination
The Main Exam is descriptive in nature and consists of four papers.

General Hindi
- Grammar: Sandhi, Samas, Tenses, sentence correction.
- Vocabulary: Synonyms, antonyms, idioms, and phrases.
- Comprehension: Reading passages and answering questions.
- Writing Skills: Essay writing, letter writing (formal/informal).
General English

3. Personal Interview

The interview assesses the candidate’s personality, suitability for the civil services, general awareness, communication skills, and problem-solving abilities.

Marks Weightage:
- The Preliminary Exam is only qualifying in nature, and its marks are not counted in the final merit. The final merit is based on the Main Examination and Personal Interview.

- Candidates must stay updated with national and international news, especially related to Rajasthan.

- Special emphasis is given to the history, culture, and current affairs of Rajasthan.
