The Supreme Court of India is recruiting approximately 90 Law Clerks-cum-Research Associates on a contractual basis with a monthly remuneration of ₹80,000. Eligible candidates can apply online by February 7, 2025.

Vacancy & Pay Scale:

Applications are invited for a total of approx. 90 vacant posts.

  • Consolidated Remuneration: ₹80,000 per month

Eligibility Criteria:

Educational Qualification:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LLB or Integrated Law Course) from a recognized institution approved by the Bar Council of India for enrollment as an Advocate.
  2. Final-year students of a Five-Year Integrated Law Course or the third year of a Three-Year Law Course may apply, subject to furnishing proof of acquiring the degree before joining.

Skills and Knowledge:

  1. Proficiency in legal research, drafting, and analysis.
  2. Familiarity with legal databases like Manupatra, SCC Online, Westlaw, LexisNexis, etc.
  3. Basic computer skills, including retrieving legal data from search engines.

Age Limit (as of February 7, 2025):

  • Minimum Age: 20 years
  • Maximum Age: 32 years

Selection Process:

  1. Written Examination:
    • Part I: Objective Test (Multiple Choice Questions) to assess legal knowledge and comprehension skills.
    • Part II: Subjective Written Examination to evaluate writing and analytical abilities.
    • Examination centers: 23 cities across India, including Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and more.
  2. Interview:
    • Candidates shortlisted from the written test will be called for a personal interview.
  3. Final Merit List:
    • Based on performance in the Written Examination and Interview.

Application Fee:

  • ₹500 (plus applicable bank charges).
  • Payment Mode: Online via UCO Bank Payment Gateway on the official Supreme Court website.

How to Apply:

  2. Fill out the online application form with accurate details.
  3. Upload the required documents, including:
    • Recent passport-sized photograph and signature
    • Educational qualification certificates
  4. Pay the application fee and submit the application form.
  5. Retain the Application Number and a printout of the form for future reference.

General Instructions:

  1. This assignment is purely contractual and does not guarantee regular employment.
  2. Candidates must not practice law or take any other assignment during the tenure.
  3. No TA/DA will be provided for attending the Written Test or Interview.
  4. Applications with incomplete or false information will be summarily rejected.

Additional Information:

  • Exam Key Objections: Candidates can raise objections to the Part I exam answer key between March 10, 2025, 12:00 PM, and March 11, 2025, 11:59 PM, for a fee of ₹100 per question.
  • Terms of Engagement: The contract is valid for 2025–2026 and may be terminated with notice.
