Sikkim University, through its Department of Geology under the School of Physical Sciences, has announced an exciting opportunity for research enthusiasts. The recruitment drive for Junior/Senior Research Fellow (JRF/SRF) and Field Cum Lab Attendant (FCLA) is part of the DST’s Centre of Excellence on Water Resources, Cryosphere, and Climate Change Studies.

Applications are invited for a total of 3 vacant posts under the following categories:

Eligibility Criteria:

1. Junior/Senior Research Fellow (JRF/SRF):

• Educational Qualification:Postgraduate Degree in Environmental Sciences, Geophysics, Glaciology, Geology, Remote Sensing and GIS, Geo-informatics, or any other relevant disciplines.
• Additional Requirements:
  • Must have qualified NET/GATE or equivalent national-level examination conducted by recognized agencies such as DST, DBT, DAE, DRDO, MHRD, ICAR, etc.
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas is required:
    • Climate change studies
    • Geophysical studies
    • Glacial studies
    • Mathematical modeling
    • Geochemical analytical techniques and data interpretation
• Age Limit: No specific age limit is mentioned.

2. Field Cum Lab Attendant (FCLA):

• Educational Qualification:Graduate in a relevant discipline.
• Additional Requirements:
  • Working experience with analytical instrumentation and/or fieldwork in glaciers.
• Age Limit: Maximum 50 years.
