Selection Process for SSC SI Delhi Police & CAPFs 2024
Selection Process for Sub-Inspector in Delhi Police & CAPFs (2024)
Here’s a detailed breakdown of the selection process to help you navigate through each stage successfully:
1. Initial Registration & Examination
- Registration: Candidates must register themselves within the stipulated timeline. Upon successful registration and provisional acceptance by the Commission, Roll Numbers and Admission Certificates (AC) will be issued for the Computer-Based Examination (Paper-I).
- Qualifying Marks for Paper-I and Paper-II:
- UR: 30%
- OBC/EWS: 25%
- All other categories: 20%
2. Shortlisting for PST/PET
- Paper-I Performance: Candidates will be shortlisted for the Physical Standard Test (PST) and Physical Endurance Test (PET) based on their performance in Paper-I (including bonus marks for NCC certificate holders). The Commission reserves the right to set different cut-off marks based on vacancies and categories.
- PST/PET: These tests are qualifying in nature, with Ex-Servicemen exempted from PET. Only those who pass PST/PET can move to the next stage.
3. Paper-II Examination & Medical Examination
- After qualifying PST/PET, candidates proceed to Paper-II.
- Shortlisting for Medical Examination: Candidates are shortlisted for medical examination based on their combined performance in Paper-I and Paper-II, along with any bonus marks for NCC certificates.
4. Final Selection & Allocation
- Post/Force Allocation: The final selection is determined by the performance in Paper-I and Paper-II and the preference of posts/forces indicated by the candidate. Once allotted to a preference, no other options will be considered.
- Departmental Candidates (Delhi Police): Departmental candidates are first considered for open vacancies, followed by departmental vacancies, as per the relevant rules.
5. Important Considerations
- Merit-Based Selection: Candidates who qualify on their merit without availing of relaxed standards will be placed in unreserved vacancies if it’s more advantageous to them.
- Reserved Vacancies: Those qualifying with relaxed standards will be adjusted against reserved vacancies. For Ex-Servicemen, military service deduction from age does not count as relaxed standards.
- Probation Period: Candidates selected through this process will undergo a two-year probation period, which includes mandatory training or examinations.
- All India Service Liability (AISL): Except for SI in Delhi Police, all posts carry an All India Service Liability, meaning candidates may be asked to serve anywhere in the country.
6. Post-Selection Details
- No Waiting List: After the final result is declared, there will be no waiting or reserve list. Any unfilled vacancies due to various reasons may be carried forward to the next vacancy year as per the rules.
Key Takeaways
The selection process is comprehensive and includes various stages like Computer-Based Examinations (Paper-I & Paper-II), PST/PET, and a medical examination. Ensure that you meet all eligibility criteria and carefully choose your post preferences. Once selected, prepare for the probation period and be ready to serve anywhere in the country.
