Selection Process for HSSC Constable Recruitment 2024

Selection Process for HSSC Constable Recruitment 2024

The Haryana Staff Selection Commission (HSSC) Constable Recruitment 2024 selection process typically involves several stages to ensure that only the most suitable candidates are chosen. Here is the detailed selection process:

1. Written Examination (Knowledge Test)

  • This is the first phase of the selection process.
  • The written test consists of objective-type questions.
  • The exam usually contains 100 multiple-choice questions (MCQs).
  • Each question carries 0.80 marks, making the total marks for the exam 80.
  • The duration of the exam is 90 minutes.
  • The questions are generally based on General Studies, General Science, Current Affairs, General Reasoning, Mental Aptitude, Numerical Ability, Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, and other relevant subjects.
  • A part of the test is also dedicated to the knowledge of the History, Geography, Polity, and Economy of Haryana.

2. Physical Screening Test (PST)

  • Candidates who qualify for the written exam are called for the Physical Screening Test.
  • The PST is qualifying in nature and tests the physical fitness of the candidates.
  • Different physical standards are set for male and female candidates.
  • The test usually includes tasks like running, high jump, and long jump, but may vary.

3. Physical Measurement Test (PMT)

  • Candidates who qualify in the PST are then required to appear for the Physical Measurement Test.
  • This test checks if candidates meet the required physical standards like height and chest measurements (for male candidates).

4. Document Verification

  • Candidates who clear the PMT are called for document verification.
  • They must present their original documents/certificates for verification.
  • Documents such as educational certificates, identity proof, caste certificates (if applicable), and other required documents are checked for authenticity.

5. Additional Qualification and Socio-Economic Criteria

  • Marks may be awarded for higher qualifications and socio-economic criteria.
  • These additional marks can be crucial in the final merit list preparation.

6. Final Merit List

  • The final merit list is prepared based on the performance of the candidates in the written examination, physical tests, document verification, and additional qualification/socio-economic criteria.
  • Candidates are selected based on their ranks in the final merit list.
