The Railway Recruitment Cell of East Central Railway (RRC-ECR) invites online applications for engagement as Act Apprentices under the Apprentices Act, 1961. With 1,154 slots available, this recruitment offers an excellent opportunity for skill development in various trades across divisions/units in Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, and neighboring regions.

Vacancy Details:

Applications are invited for a total of 1154 vacant posts under the following categories:

Division/Unit-Wise Vacancies:

1. Danapur Division: 675
2. Dhanbad Division: 156
3. Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Division: 64
4. Sonpur Division: 47
5. Samastipur Division: 46
6. Plant Depot/Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Division: 29
7. Carriage Repair Workshop (Harnaut): 110
8. Mechanical Workshop (Samastipur): 27

Trade-Wise Opportunities Across Divisions:

Includes trades like Fitter, Welder, Electrician, Mechanic, Painter, Wireman, and Carpenter.

Eligibility Criteria:

Educational Qualifications:

• Passed 10th/Matriculation or equivalent under the 10+2 system with at least 50% aggregate marks.
• ITI Certificate in relevant trade issued by NCVT or SCVT.

Age Limit (as of 01/01/2025):

• Minimum Age: 15 years
• Maximum Age: 24 years

Relaxation:

• SC/ST: 5 years
• OBC: 3 years
• PwBD: 10 years

Physical Fitness:

Candidates must meet the prescribed medical and physical fitness standards for the relevant trade.

Selection Process:

1. Merit List Preparation:
   • Based on the average percentage of marks in Matriculation (50%) and ITI (50%).
2. Tie-Breaker Rules:
   • Older candidates will be given preference in case of identical marks.
   • If the age is also the same, candidates who passed Matriculation earlier will be prioritized.
3. Document Verification & Medical Examination:
   • Shortlisted candidates will undergo document verification and medical fitness checks in their chosen division/unit.

Application Fee:

• General/OBC: ₹100
• SC/ST/PwBD/Women: Exempted
• Fee Payment Mode: Online via debit/credit card or net banking.
