Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID), a Maharatna Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Power, Government of India, is seeking bright and energetic individuals for the following trainee positions:

• Diploma Trainee (Electrical)
• Diploma Trainee (Civil)
• Junior Officer Trainee (HR)
• Junior Officer Trainee (F&A)
• Assistant Trainee (F&A)

These vacancies are available in various regions across the country. POWERGRID is one of the largest transmission utilities globally, operating over 1,78,195 circuit kilometers of transmission lines and 279 substations. It plays a pivotal role in the power transmission business and operates a vast telecom network.

Vacancy Details:

POWERGRID has announced multiple vacancies for various trainee positions across different regions in India. The total number of vacancies is 795(5 – backlog, 2 – PwBD Backlog) across different regions. The positions available are:

1. Diploma Trainee (Electrical)

• Total Vacancies: 455

2. Diploma Trainee (Civil)

• Total Vacancies: 61

3. Junior Officer Trainee (HR)

• Total Vacancies: 66

4. Junior Officer Trainee (F&A)

• Total Vacancies: 35

5. Assistant Trainee (F&A)

• Total Vacancies: 17

Position Details:

1. Diploma Trainee (Electrical)

• Qualification: Full-time regular Diploma in Electrical, Electrical (Power), Electrical and Electronics, or Power Systems Engineering from a recognized technical board.
• Minimum Marks: 70% for General/OBC(NCL)/EWS candidates, pass marks for SC/ST/PwBD candidates.
• Upper Age Limit: 27 years
• Pay Scale: Rs. 24,000-3%-108,000 during training; Rs. 25,000-3%-117,500 after absorption.
• Regions: NR-I, NR-II, NR-III, ER-I, ER-II, NER, SR-I, SR-II, WR-I, WR-II, and Odisha Project.

2. Diploma Trainee (Civil)

• Qualification: Full-time regular Diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognized technical board.
• Minimum Marks: 70% for General/OBC(NCL)/EWS candidates, pass marks for SC/ST/PwBD candidates.
• Upper Age Limit: 27 years
• Pay Scale: Rs. 24,000-3%-108,000 during training; Rs. 25,000-3%-117,500 after absorption.
• Regions: NR-I, NR-II, ER-I, SR-I, WR-I, and Odisha Project.

3. Junior Officer Trainee (HR)

• Qualification: Full-time regular three-year Graduate Degree (BBA/BBM/BBS) or equivalent.
• Minimum Marks: 60% for General/OBC(NCL)/EWS candidates, pass marks for SC/ST/PwBD candidates.
• Upper Age Limit: 27 years
• Pay Scale: Rs. 24,000-3%-108,000 during training; Rs. 25,000-3%-117,500 after absorption.
• Regions: NR-I, NR-II, NR-III, ER-I, ER-II, NER, SR-I, WR-I, WR-II, and Odisha Project.

4. Junior Officer Trainee (F&A)

• Qualification: Inter CA/Inter CMA
• Upper Age Limit: 27 years
• Pay Scale: Rs. 24,000-3%-108,000 during training; Rs. 25,000-3%-117,500 after absorption.
• Regions: NR-I, NR-II, ER-II, SR-II, WR-II, and Odisha Project.

5. Assistant Trainee (F&A)

• Qualification: B.Com with 60% marks for General/OBC(NCL)/EWS candidates, pass marks for SC/ST/PwBD candidates.
• Upper Age Limit: 27 years
• Pay Scale: Rs. 21,500-3%-74,000 during training; Rs. 22,000-3%-85,000 after absorption.
• Regions: SR-II and Odisha Project.

Additional Details:

• Application Fee: Rs. 300/- for Diploma Trainees and Junior Officer Trainees; Rs. 200/- for Assistant Trainee (F&A).
• Age Relaxations: Applicable for OBC(NCL)/SC/ST/PwBD/Ex-SM as per Government of India directives.
• Selection Process: Written Test/Computer Based Test followed by Computer Skill Test (where applicable).
• Service Agreement Bond: Rs. 2,50,000/- for General/OBC/EWS candidates (Rs. 1,25,000/- for SC/ST/PwBD).

Written Test/Computer Based Test (CBT):

The Written Test/Computer Based Test (CBT) for recruitment at POWERGRID consists of the following details:

Test Duration:

• 2 hours
• Extra time is provided to PwBD candidates as per Government of India directives.

Test Structure:

The test will have objective-type questions, with each question having four answer options.

Sections:

1. Part-I: Technical/Professional Knowledge (TKT/PKT)
   • 120 questions focused on specific disciplines.
   • For Diploma Trainees (Electrical/Civil): Technical knowledge questions.
   • For Junior Officer Trainees (HR/F&A) and Assistant Trainee (F&A): Professional knowledge questions related to the field.
2. Part-II: Aptitude Test (AT)
   • 50 questions covering the following topics:
     • English vocabulary
     • Verbal comprehension
     • Quantitative aptitude
     • Reasoning ability
     • Data sufficiency and interpretation
     • Numerical ability
     • General awareness

Marking Scheme:

• Each question carries 1 mark.
• Negative marking: ¼ mark will be deducted for wrong answers and multiple answers.

Qualifying Criteria:

• For Unreserved/EWS vacancies: Minimum 30% in each part (Part-I & Part-II) and 40% in aggregate.
• For Reserved vacancies (SC/ST/PwBD): Minimum 25% in each part and 30% in aggregate.
