NTA Biotechnology Eligibility Test (BET) Eligibility Criteria:
To be eligible for DBT BET (Biotechnology Eligibility Test) 2025, candidates must possess the following:
Educational Qualifications
Candidates must have completed or be in the final year of the following degrees in biotechnology or related life sciences:
- B.E./B.Tech./MBBS
- M.Sc./M.Tech./M.V.Sc./M. Pharm./Integrated M.Sc./M.Tech.
- DBT-supported M.Sc./M.Tech./M.V.Sc. programmes
Minimum Marks Required
- General, OBC, EWS: 60% aggregate marks
- SC/ST/PwD: 55% aggregate marks
Age Limit (as of the last application date)
- General & EWS: Up to 28 years
- OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): Up to 31 years (3-year relaxation)
- SC/ST/PwD/Women: Up to 33 years (5-year relaxation)
DBT BET 2025 Fellowship Categories & Benefits:
Category-I (DBT-JRF Fellowship)
- Candidates selected under Category IÂ can avail a fellowship for a Ph.D. in any recognized institution in India.
- The fellowship amount is equivalent to CSIR/UGC-NET JRF, with HRA & contingency grants.
- Valid for two years, subject to Ph.D. registration.
Category-II (DBT-Project Fellowship)
- Candidates selected under Category-II are eligible for recruitment in DBT-sponsored projects.
- The fellowship is equivalent to NET/GATE-qualified candidates under DST guidelines.
