NSPCL, a joint venture of two Maharatnas—NTPC and SAIL, invites applications for Technical Assistant (Power Station) positions in Electrical, Mechanical, C&I, and Chemistry disciplines on a fixed-term basis. These roles offer an opportunity to contribute to India’s power generation and green energy initiatives.

Remuneration & Benefits:
- Monthly Pay: ₹60,000 (Consolidated).
- Other Benefits:
- HRA or company accommodation (subject to availability).
- Medical facilities for self and dependents as per company policy.
- TA/DA for official tours as per W7 grade entitlement.
- Contract Duration: Initially 3 years, extendable by 2 years based on performance and organizational requirements.
Eligibility Criteria:
1. Technical Assistant (Power Station)–Electrical
- Educational Qualification:
- Diploma in Electrical Engineering or Electrical & Electronics Engineering with a minimum of 60% marks (relaxable to 50% for SC/ST/PwBD candidates).
- Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in:
- Electrical testing.
- Switchyard maintenance.
- Transmission systems in power plants.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in:
2. Technical Assistant (Power Station)–Mechanical
- Educational Qualification:
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Production Engineering with a minimum of 60% marks (relaxable to 50% for SC/ST/PwBD candidates).
- Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in:
- Maintenance of boilers and turbines.
- Ash handling systems.
- Coal handling plants in power stations.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in:
3. Technical Assistant (Power Station) – C&I (Control & Instrumentation)
- Educational Qualification:
- Diploma in Instrumentation Engineering or Electronics Engineering with a minimum of 60% marks (relaxable to 50% for SC/ST/PwBD candidates).
- Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in:
- Maintenance and operation of control systems in power plants.
- Calibration and troubleshooting of instrumentation.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in:
4. Technical Assistant (Power Station)–Chemistry
- Educational Qualification:
- Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Chemistry with a minimum of 60% marks (relaxable to 50% for SC/ST/PwBD candidates).
- Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in:
- Water treatment plant operations.
- Analysis of water and chemical samples.
- Chemical management in power plants.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in:
Age Limit (as of January 31, 2025):

- Maximum Age: 30 years.
- Age Relaxation:
- SC/ST: 5 years.
- OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 years.
- PwBD: 10 years.
Selection Process:
- Computer-Based Test (CBT):
- Duration: 2 hours.
- Structure:
- 40 MCQs on General Knowledge, English, Quantitative Aptitude, and Reasoning.
- 80 MCQs on discipline-specific subjects.
- Scoring: 1 mark per correct answer; 0.25 negative marking for incorrect answers.
- Qualifying Marks: 40%.
- Skill Test:
- Shortlisted candidates (1:5 ratio) will appear for a skill test specific to their discipline.
- Qualifying Marks: 40%.
- Final Merit List:
- Based on performance in the CBT (skill test is qualifying in nature).
