Metro Railway Kolkata Cultural Quota Recruitment 2024-25

Vacancy Details:

• Total Posts: 2 (Group ‘C’ in Pay Level-2, ₹19,900 – ₹63,200 as per 7th CPC)
• Disciplines:
  1. Tabla -1 Post
  2. Synthesizer -1 Post

Eligibility Criteria:

Educational Qualification:

1. For Tabla:
   • Passed 12th or equivalent with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks from a recognized board.
   • 50% aggregate marks not required for SC/ST/ESM/PWD candidates or those with higher qualifications.
   • Degree/Diploma/Certificate course in Tabla from a Government-recognized University/Institute.
2. For Synthesizer:
   • Passed 10th with ITI/National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) approved by NCVT.
   • Diploma in Engineering not considered as an alternative.
   • Degree/Diploma/Certificate course in Harmonium/Synthesizer from a Government-recognized University/Institute.

Age Limit (as of January 1, 2025):

• UR: 18 to 30 years
• OBC: 18 to 33 years
• SC/ST: 18 to 35 years
• Additional relaxations available for Railway Employees, Ex-Servicemen, PWD, Widows, and Judicially Separated Women.

Desirable Qualifications:

• Experience in the applied discipline with performances on All India Radio/Doordarshan.
• Awards/Prizes at National Level in the applied discipline.

Selection Process:

1. Stage I: Written Test (50 Marks):
   • Objective type questions in General Knowledge, Mathematics, English, Reasoning, Professional Knowledge, etc.
   • Duration: 60 minutes
   • Minimum qualifying marks: 40%
2. Stage II: Assessment of Talent in Applied Discipline (50 Marks):
   • Practical Demonstration: 35 marks
   • Testimonials/Prizes/Awards: 15 marks
3. Medical Examination:
   • Candidates recommended after both stages will undergo medical examination as per Railway standards.

Application Fee:

• General/OBC: ₹500 (₹400 refundable for those who appear in the written test).
• SC/ST/Women/PWD/Ex-Servicemen/Minorities/Economically Backward Classes: ₹250 (fully refundable for those who appear in the written test).
• Payment via Postal Order or Bank Draft drawn in favor of FA&CAO, Metro Railway, Kolkata.
