MERB Meghalaya Recruitment 2025: The Meghalaya Education Recruitment Board (MERB) is recruiting for 284 Posts of Assistant Professor/ Lecturer in Government Colleges across the state. Applicants must fulfill the required educational qualifications including NET/Ph.D. along with a Master’s degree and must comply with the age limit criteria. The selection process will be based on an academic score system followed by an interview.

MERB Meghalaya Assistant Professor/ Lecturer Recruitment 2025 Eligibility Criteria:

 Educational Qualification:

• A Master’s degree with at least 55% marks (or equivalent grade) in a relevant subject from an Indian or accredited foreign university.
• Candidates must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by UGC/CSIR or have a Ph.D. as per UGC regulations.
• Candidates with a Ph.D. from a top 500 ranked foreign university (QS, THE, or ARWU rankings) are also eligible.

Age Limit:

• Maximum Age: 32 years as of 01.01.2025
• Age Relaxation: 5 years for SC/ST candidates; no upper age limit for Meghalaya Govt. employees

MERB Meghalaya Assistant Professor/ Lecturer Recruitment 2025 Selection Process:

• Academic Score Evaluation:

  • Candidates are initially shortlisted based on a detailed academic score system. This system awards marks for various educational qualifications and professional achievements, including:
    • Graduation (80% & above): 21 marks
    • Post-Graduation (80% & above): 25 marks
    • M.Phil (60% & above): 7 marks
    • Ph.D.: 25 marks
    • NET with JRF: 10 marks
    • NET only: 8 marks
    • Research Publications: Up to 6 marks (2 marks per paper)
    • Teaching/Post-Doctoral Experience: Up to 10 marks
    • Awards (International/National): Up to 3 marks

• Interview:

  • After the academic scores are calculated, shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview. The interview further assesses the candidate’s suitability for the role.
