Madras School of Economics (MSE), Chennai, invites online applications for admission to the M.A. Programs, M.Sc. in Data Science & Five-Year Integrated M.A. in Economics for the academic session 2025-26. Eligible candidates can apply online for MSE admission from 10 April 2025 to 11 May 2025. The MSE Entrance Exam 2025 will be conducted on 31st May 2025.

Two-Year M.Sc. in Data Science

• Specialization in Data Science, AI, Statistics, and Computer Science

Five-Year Integrated M.A. in Economics

• Exit option available at 3 years (B.A. Honors) or 4 years (B.A. with Research)

Madras School of Economics Admission Eligibility Criteria:

To be eligible for MSE Admission 2025 for different MA & MSc programs, candidates should possess the following qualifications:

For M.A./M.Sc. Programs:

• UG Degree in Social Sciences, Commerce, Management, Sciences, Engineering, Statistics, or Mathematics
• Must have studied Mathematics at the +2 or UG level
• Age limit: Below 25 years as on 1st July 2025
• M.Sc. Data Science: Valid GATE Score (CS, DA, MA, ST, PH) for direct admission to 50% of seats

For the Integrated B.A. Program:

• 10+2 (any subject stream with Mathematics) in the first attempt in AY 2025
• Age limit: Below 22 years as on 1st July 2025

MSE Entrance Exam Pattern 2025:

• Total Questions: 100 MCQs
• Duration: 120 Minutes (2 Hours)
• Mode: Online (Computer-Based Test)
• Medium: English
• Marking Scheme: +1 mark for every correct answer

PART-A (Common for All Streams)—60 Questions

• Basic Mathematics & Statistics—30 Qs
• Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning—15 Qs
• Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension—15 Qs

PART B (40 Questions):

For M.Sc. Data Science & M.A. with Math/Stats Background

• Advanced Mathematics—20 Qs
• Advanced Statistics—20 Qs

For M.A. Economics Stream

• Microeconomics—10 Qs
• Macroeconomics—10 Qs
• Indian Economy & Current Issues—20 Qs
