The High Court of Jharkhand, Ranchi invites online applications from eligible candidates for 15 vacancies for the post of District Judge. Successful candidates will be appointed in the revised pay scale of Rs. 144,840–194,860 [Level J-5].

Eligibility Criteria:
- Educational Qualification:
- Graduate in Law from a recognized university.
- Must be eligible for enrollment as an advocate under the Advocates Act, 1961.
- Age Limit:
- Minimum: 35 years
- Maximum: 45 years (as of January 31, 2023)
- Relaxation: Upper age limit relaxed by 3 years for SC/ST candidates.
- Experience:
- At least 7 years of active practice at the Bar.
- Physical and Mental Fitness:
- Candidates must possess sound health and be free from diseases that could interfere with their duties. Certification from a qualified medical practitioner is required.
Selection Process:
- Preliminary Entrance Test:
- Total Marks: 100
- Duration: 2 hours
- Negative marking: -1 for each wrong answer.
- Subjects:
- General English
- General Knowledge (including Current Affairs)
- Procedural and Substantive Laws
- Indian Penal Code
- Evidence Act
- Bhartiya Nagrik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023
- Main Examination:
- Two papers (3 hours each):
- Paper I: Language & Procedural Law (100 marks)
- Paper II: Substantive Law (100 marks)
- Viva-Voce Test:
- Weightage: 40 marks
- Minimum qualifying marks: 30%
- Merit List:
- Prepared by combining marks from the Main Examination and Viva-Voce Test.

- Signature (200×125 pixels, <1 MB).
- Pay the application fee through the provided payment gateway:
- General & Others: Rs. 1000
- SC/ST Candidates: Rs. 500
- Note the payment reference number for form submission.

- Certificates of educational qualifications (Matriculation onwards).
- Enrollment certificate under the Advocates Act, 1961.
- Experience certificate from the Bar.
- Date of birth certificate.
- Medical certificate of fitness.
