About SMME:

The School of Mechanical and Materials Engineering (SMME) at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Mandi is dedicated to advancing research in the foundational aspects of mechanical and materials engineering and their diverse applications. The School offers a variety of programs, including Bachelor of Technology (BTech) degrees in Mechanical Engineering, Material Science and Engineering, and General Engineering, a Master of Technology by Research program (MTech (R)), and a doctoral program (PhD). • Commitment to interdisciplinary research, especially in the context of socially relevant technologies for the Himalayan region.
