The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Gandhinagar is inviting applications from eligible candidates for the 02 posts of Non-Teaching Staff.  The vacancies for the mentioned posts will be filled on a direct / deputation basis. Vacancy & Salary Details:

Applications are invited for a total of 2 vacant posts under the following categories:

Librarian 1 (UR) ₹1,44,200 (Level 14) ₹2,31,642 per month
Superintending Engineer 1 (UR) ₹1,23,100 (Level 13) ₹1,99,359 per month

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Librarian:
    • Qualification:
      • Ph.D. in Library Science/Information Science/Documentation/Archives & Manuscript Keeping.
      • Master’s degree in Library Science/Information Science/Documentation with at least 55% marks or equivalent grade and a consistently good academic record.
    • Experience:
      • At least 10 years as a Deputy Librarian in Pay Level 12 or higher at a University or reputed Institute Library.
    • Desirable:
      • Experience in e-resource management, research support services, library operations, and digital transformation.
      • Evidence of innovative library services, scholarly publications, and leadership skills.
      • Affiliation with professional bodies and knowledge of Open Access and Open Science.
    • Age Limit: 57 years (as of the last date of application).
  • Superintending Engineer:
    • Qualification:
      • BE/BTech degree.
    • Experience:
      • 12 years of experience, of which 7 years must be at the level of Executive Engineer or equivalent in Pay Level 11 or higher.
    • Deputation:
      • Persons holding an analogous post or 7 years of relevant experience in Pay Level 11 as Executive Engineer.
    • Age Limit: 50 years (as of the last date of application).

Selection Process:

  • Shortlisting of Candidates:
    • Meeting the minimum eligibility criteria does not guarantee selection or a call for the written test/skill test/interview.
    • Candidates are shortlisted based on:
      • Higher qualifications.
      • Quality of relevant experience.
      • Criteria determined by the institute.
  • Stages of Selection:
    • The selection may involve one or more of the following:
      • Written Test.
      • Skill Test.
      • Interview.
    • The specific stages will depend on the position applied for.
  • General Conditions:
    • Only shortlisted candidates will be called for the next stages of the selection process.
    • The selection committee reserves the right to:
      • Not fill a position.
      • Not call an applicant for the test/interview.
    • Decisions of the selection committee are final.
  • Candidates Applying on Deputation:
    • Must have an overall grading of ‘Very Good’ in the past five APARs (starting from 2019–20).
    • The appointment will be on standard terms and conditions of deputation as per Government of India norms.
  • No Objection Certificate (NOC):
    • Candidates employed in government or semi-government organizations must produce an NOC during the interview/skill test stage.
