Scheme of Examination:

1. Examination Structure:

  • The Computer-Based Examination will be divided into two papers:
      • Paper-I
      • Paper-II

2. Stream-Specific Requirements:

  • Candidates must attempt the General Engineering section that corresponds to their educational stream as indicated in their online application:
      • Civil Stream: Attempt Part-A (Civil & Structural) in both Paper-I and Paper-II.
      • Electrical Stream: Attempt Part-B (Electrical) in both Paper-I and Paper-II.
      • Mechanical Stream: Attempt Part-C (Mechanical) in both Paper-I and Paper-II.
  • Failure to attempt the appropriate section will result in disqualification.

3. Question Format:

  • Both Paper-I and Paper-II will consist of objective-type, multiple-choice questions.
  • Questions will be available in both Hindi and English.

4. Negative Marking:

  • Paper-I: 0.25 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.
  • Paper-II: 1 mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.
  • Candidates should take note of this while answering questions.

5. Permitted Materials:

  • Candidates may bring their own Slide Rule, Logarithm Table, and Steam Table for Paper-II only.
  • The use of these aids is prohibited for Paper-I.
  • A scientific calculator will be provided within the Computer-Based Examination software for Paper-II.

6. Answer Key & Representations:

  • Tentative Answer Keys for both Paper-I and Paper-II will be uploaded on the Commission’s website after the examination.
  • Candidates may challenge the answer keys by submitting an online representation within the specified time frame, with a fee of Rs. 100/- per question. This fee is non-refundable.
  • Representations submitted through other means (letter, email, etc.) will not be accepted.
  • The Commission’s decision on the final answer keys will be binding.

7. Normalization of Marks:

  • If the examination is conducted in multiple shifts, scores will be normalized using the Commission’s standard formula (as per Notice No: 1-1/2018-P&P-I dated 07-02-2019). These normalized scores will be used to determine the final merit list and cut-off marks.
  • For posts common to both Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, the difficulty levels of the question papers may differ. Therefore, scores for Paper-II in these two branches will be normalized against each other for determining merit and cut-offs.

8. Exam Date Notifications:

  • The dates provided in the notice are tentative.
  • Any changes to the examination schedule will be communicated through the Commission’s website.

9. No Re-Evaluation or Re-Checking:

  • There will be no provision for re-evaluation or re-checking of any stage or paper of the examination.
  • No correspondence on this matter will be entertained.
