The Staff Selection Commission will hold a competitive examination for recruitment of Multi-Tasking (Non-Technical) Staff (in Pay Level-1 as per Pay Matrix of 7th Pay Commission), a General Central Service Group āCā Non-Gazetted, Non-Ministerial post in various Ministries/Departments/Offices of the Government of India and various Constitutional Bodies/Statutory Bodies/Tribunals, etc., in different States/Union Territories and Havaldar (in Pay Level-1 as per Pay Matrix of 7th Pay Commission), a General Central Service Group āCā Non-Gazetted, Non-Ministerial post in Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) and Central Bureau of Narcotics (CBN) under Department of Revenue, Ministry of Finance.

Exam Pattern
The recruitment examination scheme for the MTS (Multi-Tasking Staff) and Havaldar posts is designed to test both knowledge and physical ability, ensuring that candidates meet the requirements for these crucial roles. Here’s an overview of the examination pattern:
1. Examination Format
- For MTS Post: The examination will consist of a Computer Based Examination (CBE).
- For Havaldar Post: The examination includes both CBE and Physical Efficiency Test (PET)/Physical Standard Test (PST).
2. Computer-Based Examination (CBE)
The CBE will be conducted in Hindi, English, and 13 regional languages:
- Assamese
- Bengali
- Gujarati
- Kannada
- Konkani
- Malayalam
- Manipuri (Metei or Meithei)
- Marathi
- Odia (Oriya)
- Punjabi
- Tamil
- Telugu
- Urdu
3. Key Points to Note
- Tentative Schedule: The schedule of examinations is tentative, and any changes will be communicated through the official website.
- No Re-evaluation: There will be no provision for re-evaluation or re-checking of scores. The decision of the Commission will be final.
- Discrepancies: In case of any discrepancy in the question content between English and the opted language, the English version will prevail.
4. Exam Structure
- The Computer Based Examination will be conducted in two Sessions: Session-I and Session-II.
- Both sessions are mandatory and will be held on the same day.

6. Additional Details
- Objective Type, Multiple Choice Questions: The exam will consist of objective-type questions across both sessions.
- Languages: The exam questions will be set in English, Hindi, and the 13 regional languages mentioned earlier.
- No Negative Marking in Session-I: In Session-I, there will be no penalty for wrong answers. However, in Session-II, a negative marking of one mark per wrong answer will be applied.
7. Normalization of Scores
- Scores will be normalized using a predefined formula if the exam is conducted in multiple shifts. This normalized score will be used to determine the final merit and cut-off marks.
8. Answer Keys
- Tentative Answer Keys will be made available on the official website after the examination. Candidates can submit objections to the Answer Keys online within the stipulated time by paying a fee of Rs 100/- per question. Final Answer Keys will be published after experts scrutinize them.
