Exam Pattern for SSC Combined Hindi Translators Examination 2024

The Staff Selection Commission will hold an Open Competitive Computer Based Examination for direct recruitment to Group B Non-Gazetted posts of Junior Hindi Translator, Junior Translation Officer, Junior Translator, Senior Hindi Translator, and Senior Translator for various Ministries/Departments/Organizations of the Government of India.

Scheme of Examination

The examination for the specified posts will consist of two papers, each designed to assess different skill sets. Here are the details:

Paper I: Objective Type

Mode: Computer Based Mode

Subjects:

  • General Hindi
  • General English

Number of Questions/Maximum Marks:

  • General Hindi: 100 questions/100 marks
  • General English: 100 questions/100 marks

Duration:

  • 2 Hours
  • Note: Candidates eligible for the use of a scribe will be allotted 2 hours and 40 minutes.

Important Points:

  • Type: Objective Type Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)
  • Negative Marking: 0.25 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.

Paper II: Descriptive Translation & Essay

Mode: Descriptive

Number of Questions/Maximum Marks:

  • 200 marks

Duration:

  • 2 Hours
  • Note: Candidates eligible for the use of a scribe will be allotted 2 hours and 40 minutes.

Important Points:

Instructions for Answer Book:

  • Write your correct Roll Number at the prescribed place on the cover page.
  • Affix your signature and Left-hand Thumb Impression in the relevant columns.
  • Answer Books lacking Roll Number, Signature, or Left-hand Thumb Impression will be awarded zero marks.

Unfair Means: Do not write any personal identifiers (name, roll number, mobile number, address) inside the Answer Book. Such actions will be treated as Unfair Means (UFM) and will result in zero marks, regardless of the marks awarded during the evaluation.

Additional Information:

  • Normalization: If Paper-I is conducted in multiple shifts, marks will be normalized using the formula published by the Commission.
  • Tentative Answer Keys: Will be posted on the Commission’s website after the examination. Candidates may submit online representations within the given timeframe, with a non-refundable fee of Rs. 100 per question.
  • Re-evaluation/Re-checking: There will be no provision for re-evaluation or re-checking of scores. No correspondence regarding this will be entertained.
  • Schedule Changes: Any changes to the examination schedule will be communicated through the Commission’s website.
