Exam Pattern for SSC CGL 2024
The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) conducts the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) Examination (Advertisement No.: HQ-C11018/1/2024-C-1) in four tiers. Each tier has a distinct pattern and serves a specific purpose in the selection process. Below is the detailed exam pattern for each tier:
Tier 1:

3. Paper III: Statistics (for Junior Statistical Officer)

Mode:Â Skill Test/Computer Proficiency Test (CPT)/Document Verification
Tests:
1. Data Entry Speed Test (DEST):
- Candidates are required to type 2000 words in 15 minutes on a computer in English.
- Applicable for the post of Tax Assistants (Central Excise and Income Tax).
2. Computer Proficiency Test (CPT):
- Proficiency in Word Processing, Spreadsheets, and Generation of Slides.
- Applicable for the posts of Assistant Section Officer in CSS, MEA, and AFHQ.
3. Document Verification:
- Verification of all the required documents and certificates.
Important Notes:
- Tier 1 and Tier 2: Both are objective-type exams conducted online.
- Tier 3:Â Descriptive paper conducted offline.
- Tier 4:Â Skill test/document verification as applicable.
- Normalization:Â Marks scored by candidates in Tier 1 and Tier 2 will be normalized as per SSC guidelines.
