The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) invites applications for the recruitment of Constable (General Duty) in the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), SSF, Rifleman (GD) in Assam Rifles, and Sepoy in the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB). Salary:

  • Pay Level – 1 (₹18,000 to ₹56,900) for Sepoy in NCB
  • Pay Level – 3 (₹21,700 to ₹69,100) for all other posts

1. Educational Qualifications

  • Matriculation Requirement: Candidates must have passed the Matriculation or 10th Class Examination from a recognized Board/University as of 01-01-2025.
  • Deadline Compliance: Candidates without the essential educational qualification as of the cut-off date will not be eligible and need not apply.
  • Open and Distance Learning Degrees: Degrees/diplomas/certificates obtained through Open and Distance Learning modes must be recognized by the Distance Education Bureau, UGC, for the relevant period. Candidates must produce this recognition at the time of Document Verification.
  • Document Verification: At the time of Document Verification, candidates must present original certificates like Marksheets and Provisional Certificates to prove completion of Matriculation before the cut-off date. Mere processing of results will not be accepted.

2. NCC Certificate Incentives

  • Bonus Marks: Incentives are provided based on the NCC Certificate held:
    • NCC ‘C’ Certificate: 5% of the maximum marks
    • NCC ‘B’ Certificate: 3% of the maximum marks
    • NCC ‘A’ Certificate: 2% of the maximum marks
  • Application Requirement: Candidates must opt for bonus marks in the Online Application Form; changes post-application will not be permitted.
  • Verification: Original NCC certificates must be produced at the time of Document Verification for confirmation. Provisionally awarded bonus marks will be confirmed upon certificate verification.

3. Sports and Physical Standards

  • Sports Information: Candidates should provide sports-related information in the designated column of the Online Application Form.
  • Physical Standard Test (PST) and Physical Efficiency Test (PET): Candidates will be shortlisted for PST/PET based on their performance in the CBE. Details of height, weight, and chest measurements will be assessed.
  • PST/PET Exemptions: Ex-servicemen are exempt from PST/PET but must appear for height, chest, and weight measurement for record purposes. They must also clear the Medical Examination.

4. Physical Efficiency Test (PET) Timings

  • Male Candidates: 5 Kms in 24 minutes
  • Female Candidates:
    • 1.6 kms in 8½ minutes (for most candidates)
    • 1.6 kms in 7 minutes (for candidates from Ladakh Region)
    • 800 meters in 5 minutes (for candidates from Ladakh Region)

5. Physical Standard Test (PST) Requirements

Height:

  • Male: 170 cms
  • Female: 157 cms
  • Relaxations are available for various categories, including Scheduled Tribes and specific regional groups.

Chest Measurement (Male Candidates):

  • Un-expanded: 80 cms
  • Minimum Expansion: 5 cms
  • Relaxations apply to certain categories.

6. Age Limit

  • Crucial Date: Candidates must be aged between 18 and 23 years as of 01-01-2025 (born between 02-01-2002 and 01-01-2007).
  • Age Relaxations: Available for SC/ST, OBC, Ex-Servicemen, and victims’ dependents, with varying limits based on category.

7. Ex-Servicemen Provisions

  • Eligibility: Ex-servicemen who have secured employment on the civil side are not eligible for reservations. They must have a self-declaration about applications for various vacancies.
  • Call-Up Service: Periods of Call-Up Service are considered for age relaxation.

8. Documentation at Medical Examination

  • Required Documents: Include Matriculation Certificate, Domicile Certificate, NCC Certificate (if applicable), Caste Certificate, and others as specified.
  • Medical Examination: Conducted by CAPF Medical Boards according to Uniform Guidelines.
