Eligibility Criteria for RRC SWR Scouts & Guides Quota Recruitment 2024

South Western Railway invites applications in the prescribed format from eligible candidates for recruitment of 03 (Three) posts in Level-2 and 08 (Eight) posts in Level-1 of the Railway Services (Revised Pay) Rules, 2016 against Scouts & Guides Quota for the year 2024-25. Below are the detailed eligibility criteria for the recruitment:

1. Educational Qualifications

For Level-2:

• Passed 12th (+2 stage) or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.
  (Note: 50% marks are not mandatory for SC/ST/Ex-Servicemen candidates and those with higher qualifications like Graduation/Post-Graduation)
  OR
• Passed Matriculation Plus ITI/Apprenticeship approved by NCVT/SCVT for technical posts.
  (Diploma in Engineering will not be considered as an alternative qualification for these posts)

For Level-1:

• Passed 10th or ITI or equivalent qualification.
  OR
• National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) granted by NCVT.

2. Scouts & Guides Qualifications

Applicable for both Level-2 and Level-1:
a) President Scout/Guide/Rover/Ranger OR Himalayan Wood Badge (HWB) holder in any section.
b) Active member of a Scouts organization for at least 5 years (Certificate of Activeness required).
c) Participation in two national-level or All Indian Railways-level events AND two state-level events.

3. Age Limit

• For Level-2:
  • Minimum: 18 years
  • Maximum: 30 years
• For Level-1:
  • Minimum: 18 years
  • Maximum: 33 years

(Age as of January 1, 2025)

4. Age Relaxations

• SC/ST: 5 years
• OBC: 3 years
• Ex-Servicemen: Service duration + 3 years
• Railway Employees (3 years of service): Up to 40 years (General), 45 years (SC/ST), 43 years (OBC).
• PwBD: 10 years (additional for SC/ST/OBC).
• Widows, Divorced Women, and Judicially Separated Women (unmarried): Up to 35 years (General), 38 years (OBC), and 40 years (SC/ST).
