Eligibility Criteria for RBI Grade B Officers
1. Nationality
- The candidate must be a citizen of India.
- Citizens of Nepal, Bhutan, or Tibetan refugees who came to India before January 1, 1962, to permanently settle in India are also eligible.
- Persons of Indian origin who have migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam to permanently settle in India can also apply.
2. Age Limit
- Minimum Age:Â 21 years
- Maximum Age:Â 30 years (as of the reference date)
- Age Relaxation:
- OBC: 3 years
- SC/ST: 5 years
- Ex-servicemen: 5 years
- Candidates with M.Phil. and Ph.D. qualifications: Up to 32 and 34 years, respectively.
3. Educational Qualification
- For General (DR) Posts:
- Graduation in any discipline / equivalent technical or professional qualification with a minimum of 60% marks (50% for SC/ST/PwBD applicants) or
- Post-Graduation / equivalent technical qualification with a minimum of 55% marks (pass marks for SC/ST/PwBD applicants) in aggregate of all semesters/years.
- For DEPR Posts:
- A Master’s Degree in Economics or Finance with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade from a recognized Indian or foreign University/Institute.
- For DSIM Posts:
- A Master’s Degree in Statistics/Mathematical Statistics/Mathematical Economics/Econometrics/Statistics & Informatics from IIT-Kharagpur or Applied Statistics & Informatics from IIT-Bombay with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade.
4. Number of Attempts
- General Category: 6 attempts
- SC/ST/OBC/PwBD: No restriction on the number of attempts.
5. Experience
- No prior experience is required for the RBI Grade B Officer posts.
