Eligibility Criteria for NICL Assistant Recruitment 2024
National Insurance Company Limited (NICL), India’s oldest and leading public sector general insurance company, invites applications from dynamic and eligible candidates for the position of Assistant (Class-III). Below are the detailed eligibility criteria for the recruitment:
1. Nationality
Candidates must be:
- A citizen of India, or
- A subject of Nepal or Bhutan, or
- A Tibetan refugee who arrived in India before January 1, 1962, intending to settle permanently, or
- A person of Indian origin who migrated from specified countries (e.g., Pakistan, Sri Lanka) intending to settle in India, with a certificate of eligibility from the Government of India.
2. Age Limit (as of October 1, 2024)
- Minimum Age: 21 years
- Maximum Age: 30 years (born between October 2, 1994, and October 1, 2003).
- Relaxations:
- SC/ST: +5 years
- OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): +3 years
- Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD): +10 years
- Ex-Servicemen: Period of service in defense + 3 years (max. age: 45 years).
- Widows/divorced/separated women: Up to 35 years (General), 38 years (OBC), 40 years (SC/ST).
- Existing employees of NICL: +5 years.
3. Educational Qualification (as of October 1, 2024)
- Graduation in any discipline from a recognized university or equivalent qualification recognized by the Central Government.
- Proficiency in the regional language (reading, writing, and speaking) of the State/UT applied for is mandatory. Candidates must qualify in a Regional Language Test.
4. Reservation Details
- Reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC/PwBD/EWS/Ex-Servicemen) are eligible for reservation benefits as per government norms.
- OBC candidates must produce a valid “Non-Creamy Layer” certificate for eligibility.
- EWS candidates must present an Income and Asset Certificate for the financial year 2023-24.
5. Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD)
- Eligible categories:
- Visual Impairment (VI)
- Hearing Impairment (HI)
- Locomotor Disability (LD)
- Intellectual Disabilities (ID) including Autism, Mental Illness, and Specific Learning Disabilities.
- Multiple Disabilities (MD) from the above categories.
