Eligibility Criteria for JK Police SI Post
JKSSB Sub-Inspector (SI) Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification:
- Graduation from a recognized university.
Age Limit:
- Minimum age of 18 years and maximum age of 28 years as of January 1, 2024.
- For in-service police personnel and government service/contractual employment: Maximum age of 30 years.
Domicile:
- Candidates must be domiciles of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir and possess a valid Domicile Certificate issued by the Competent Authority on the prescribed format on or before the cut-off date (January 2, 2025).
Physical Standards:
PHYSICAL STANDARD TEST (PST)
For Males:
i) Height: 5′-6″ (minimum)
ii) Chest girth: 32″ (unexpanded)
iii) Chest girth: 33 ½” (expanded)
For Females:
i) Height: 5’2″ (minimum)
Provided that for candidates belonging to the Gorkha Community / Bot Tribe, the minimum height shall be relaxable by 2″.
PHYSICAL ENDURANCE TEST (PET)
For Male candidates:
- Long Race: 1600 meters in 6 ½ minutes (Six minutes thirty seconds)
- Pushups: 20 (one cycle of up and down to be counted as one)
For Female candidates:
- Long Race: 1000 meters in 6 ½ minutes (Six minutes thirty seconds)
- Shot Put (4Kgs): 14 ½ feet in three attempts
Special provisions regarding relaxation in Physical Endurance Test for Ex-Servicemen:
The Ex-Serviceman candidates shall be required to qualify Physical Endurance Test as per the following relaxed standards.

- Both male and female candidates are eligible.
Reservation:
- Reserved category candidates (SC, ST-I, ST-II, OBC, RBA, ALC/IB, EWS) are eligible for the respective reservations as per JKSSB guidelines.
