Eligibility Criteria for Bihar Vidhan Sabha Sachivalaya Security Guard Recruitment 2024

The Bihar Vidhan Sabha Secretariat invites applications for 69 Security Guard vacancies in 2024. Eligible candidates must meet the age, educational, and physical standards as specified in the official notification.

1. Nationality

Candidates must be citizens of India.

2. Educational Qualifications

• Applicants must have passed at least 10+2 (Intermediate) or an equivalent examination from a recognized board.

3. Age Limit

• Minimum Age: 18 years
• Maximum Age: 25 years
  Age relaxations will apply as per government norms for candidates from reserved categories.

4. Physical Standards

For Male Candidates:

• Height: Minimum 167.5 cm
• Chest: Minimum 81 cm (with an expansion of at least 5 cm)

For Female Candidates:

• Height: Minimum 154.6 cm

5. Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

All applicants must qualify for the following tests:

• Running:
  • Male: 1.6 km in 6 minutes
  • Female: 1 km in 6 minutes
• Long Jump: Minimum qualifying distances will be disclosed at the testing stage.

6. Category-wise Reservations

• Unreserved: 29 (10 women)
• EWS: 7 (3 women)
• SC: 10 (4 women)
• ST: 1
• Extremely Backward Class (EBC): 12 (5 women)
• Backward Class (BC): 9 (3 women)
• BC Women: 1

Note: Two percent horizontal reservation applies for dependents of Bihar’s freedom fighters.

7. Medical Fitness

Candidates must meet the medical fitness standards set for security guard recruitment, including:

• Good eyesight (without color blindness).
• General physical fitness suitable for security roles.

8. Other Requirements

• Candidates must not have any criminal record or pending case that could disqualify their application.
• Applicants must adhere to the character and conduct requirements stipulated by the recruitment board.
