The Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO) is an agency under the Ministry of Defence, Government of India, responsible for the development of technology for use by the military. DRDO is committed to enhancing self-reliance in defence systems and undertakes design & development leading to the production of world-class weapon systems and equipment.
DRDO invites applications from retired officials from the Central Government, State Government, PSUs, and Autonomous Bodies for engagement as Consultants on a short-term contract basis. The role involves providing expert advice and support in various technical and administrative functions.

Eligibility Criteria:
- Experience:Â Retired officials with considerable experience in the functioning of Central Government Ministries/Departments. Preference will be given to those with experience in DRDO.
- Age Limit:Â Maximum age limit is 63 years as of the closing date of application.
- Skills:Â Effective communication (both oral and written) and interpersonal skills with a strong flair for in-depth examination of areas of work.
Remuneration & Allowances:
- For Pensioners:Â A fixed monthly amount derived by deducting the basic pension from the pay drawn at the time of retirement. This amount remains unchanged for the contract term.
- For Non-Pensioners:Â Maximum consolidated monthly remuneration up to Rs. 60,000.
- Conveyance Allowance: Rs. 3,000 for pay levels up to 11 and Rs. 5,000 for pay levels 12 to 14 and above.
- Other Benefits:Â Consultants are not entitled to any other allowances/benefits such as Dearness Allowance, Transport Facility, Residential Accommodation, Personal Staff, CGHS, Medical reimbursement, etc.
