1. Essential Qualifications
- Graduate from a recognized university/institution.
- Coaching Qualification:
- One-year Diploma in Coaching from the National Institute of Sports (NIS) / recognized University / recognized Institute in the concerned sport.
- If a regular one-year coaching diploma in the discipline is not available from NIS/universities/institutes, the candidate should possess:
- Post Graduation in Physical Education (2-year integrated) from a recognized University/Institution, AND
- Must have specialized in the concerned sports discipline coaching during PG in Physical Education, AND
- Must have participated at the national level in that sport.
- ICT Skills: Completion of a recognized course on computer concepts (CCC+) of 126-200 hours OR a degree/diploma in Computer Science.
2. Age Limit (as of 01/01/2025)
- Minimum: 21 years
- Maximum: 37 years
Chandigarh Sports Department Junior Coaches Recruitment 2025 Selection Procedure:
The selection process for junior coaches under the Sports Department Chandigarh includes four stages:
- Written Examination—75 Marks
- Duration: 2 hours.
- Must score a minimum of 38 marks to qualify.
- Sports Achievements (Technical Selection Criteria) – 20 Marks
- Awarded based on highest sports achievements (national/international).
- Coaching Experience—5 Marks (1 mark per year, max. 5 marks)
- Experience must be in the same discipline; partial years are not counted.
- Merit List
- Computed by summing the candidate’s written exam marks + sports achievement marks + coaching experience marks.
- The final selection is purely on merit.
