Calcutta High Court Translator Recruitment 2025

Vacancy & Pay Scale:

Applications are invited for a total of 02 vacant posts under the following categories:

• UR: 01, SC: 01
• Pay Scale: Level 9 of Pay Matrix ₹28,900 – ₹74,500 (Minimum Pay ₹29,800) + Allowances

Eligibility Criteria:

Educational Qualification:

• Must have passed Higher Secondary Examination (12th Standard) from the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education or an equivalent board.
• Must have knowledge of the vernacular language of West Bengal (Bengali, Hindi, or Nepali).

Age Limit (as on the date of notice):

• Minimum Age: 18 years
• Maximum Age: 40 years

Age Relaxation:

• SC/ST Candidates of West Bengal: 5 years

Note:

• Age proof must be from the Madhyamik (10th Standard) Admit Card or Certificate.

Selection Process:

The recruitment process will consist of:

Written Examination (50 Marks)

• Translation from Bengali to English (10 Marks)
• Translation from Hindi to English (10 Marks)
• Translation from Nepali to English (10 Marks)
• Translation from English to Bengali (10 Marks)
• Translation from English to Hindi (10 Marks)
• Qualifying Marks: 60%

Viva-Voce/Interview (10 Marks)

• Qualifying Marks: 40%

Final Merit List:

• Candidates must pass both stages to qualify for final selection.

Application Fee:

• General Candidates: ₹800
• SC/ST Candidates: ₹400

How to Apply:

1. Download the Prescribed Application Form from the Calcutta High Court website: www.calcuttahighcourt.gov.in

2. Fill in the application form with accurate details.

3. Attach the required documents:

• Three recent passport-sized color photographs (signed on the front)
• Two self-addressed envelopes (25 cm x 11 cm) with ₹45/- postal stamp each
• Self-attested photocopies of:
  – 10th & 12th certificates and mark sheets
  – Caste Certificate (if applicable)
  – Bank Challan Copy (for fee payment)

4. Send the completed application in a sealed envelope mentioning “Category and Post Applied For” on the top left corner.
