Salary:

The salary for the Steno Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) position under the Bihar Police Subordinate Services Commission (BPSSC) is as follows:

• Pay Scale: ₹29,200 to ₹92,300 per month
• Pay Level: Level 5 under the 7th Pay Commission

Eligibility Criteria:

Nationality:

• Must be an Indian citizen.

Educational Qualification:

• Candidates must have passed Intermediate (10+2) or an equivalent examination by August 1, 2024.
• A recognized computer diploma certificate is mandatory.

Age Limit (As of August 1, 2024):

1. Unreserved (Male): 18–25 years
2. Backward Class (Male/Female): 18–27 years
3. Backward Class (Female): 18–28 years
4. Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes (Male/Female): 18–30 years
5. Special Relaxations:
   • Government employees with a minimum of 3 years of service: 5-year age relaxation.
   • Former armed forces personnel: 3 years of relaxation, subject to a maximum age of 57 years.

Selection Process:

1. Written Examination:

• Paper 1: General Hindi (100 marks, minimum qualifying: 30 marks, 90 minutes).
• Paper 2: General Knowledge & Current Affairs (100 objective questions, 200 marks, 120 minutes).

2. Skill Tests:

• Hindi Typing: 80 words per minute, with a 10% error margin.
• English Typing: 30 words per minute.
• Computer Proficiency: MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Internet usage evaluation.

3. Physical Fitness Test:

• As per BPSSC norms.

4. Medical Examination and Document Verification:

• Final stage before appointment.
