Cochin Shipyard Ltd. (CSL) is a premier shipbuilding and maintenance company under the Ministry of Ports, Shipping & Waterways. Incorporated under the Companies Act, 1956, CSL builds and repairs vessels to international standards. The company is a Miniratna CPSE and was upgraded to Schedule ‘A’ status as of 31.07.2023. With a workforce of 2,162 employees (as of March 2024), CSL is a public entity listed on the BSE and NSE with a government shareholding of 72.86%.

The Director (Operations) will be a member of the Board of Directors, reporting to the Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) and will be in charge of the Shipbuilding division of the company. The role oversees the Shipbuliding business and Design & Engineering.

Overview:

Eligibility Criteria:

1. Age:

• Internal candidates: 45 years minimum, with at least 2 years of residual service by the date of vacancy.
• Others: 45 years minimum, with at least 3 years of residual service by the date of vacancy.

2. Employment Status:

Candidates must hold a regular position in one of the following organizations:

• Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSE)
• Central Government or Armed Forces
• State Public Sector Enterprises (SPSE)
• Private sector companies with an annual turnover of ₹2000 crore or more.

Preference is given to candidates from listed companies.

3. Qualifications:

• Mandatory: Engineering Graduate from a recognized institution.
• Preferred: Specialization in Mechanical, Electrical, Marine, or Naval Architecture.

4. Experience:

Candidates must have at least 5 years of cumulative experience within the last 10 years in one of the following areas:

• Shipbuilding (Production, Planning)
• Ship Design
• Overseeing Ship Construction/Repair
• Business Development or Procurement (Shipyard Materials)
• Maintenance (e.g., at Naval Headquarters/Dockyards/Ship Repair Yards)

Compensation:

• Pay Scale: ₹1,80,000 – ₹3,40,000 (IDA)

Selection Process:

Eligible candidates will be shortlisted for an interview based on the guidelines issued by the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB).
