Assam Rifles invites applications from Indian male and female citizens for recruitment under the Sports Quota for the year 2024. This is an exciting opportunity for meritorious sportspersons who have demonstrated excellence in national and international sports competitions.

Position Details:

Total Vacancies: 38 (19 male, 19 female)

Sports Disciplines:

• Athletics (400 Mtr, Long Jump, Javelin)
• Fencing
• Football
• Archery
• Badminton
• Shooting (Sports)
• Judo
• Karate

Job Responsibilities:

• Perform general duty tasks as a Rifleman/Riflewoman in the Assam Rifles.
• Represent the Assam Rifles in national and international sports events.
• Maintain high standards of physical fitness and sports performance.
• Participate in regular training and contribute to team performance in assigned sports discipline.

Eligibility Criteria:

• Educational Qualification: Matriculation (10th pass) from a recognized board.
• Age Limit:
  • General & OBC: 18-28 years (as of 01 Aug 2024)
  • SC/ST: 18-33 years (as of 01 Aug 2024)
• Sports Eligibility: Candidates must have represented India in international competitions, won medals at national competitions, or excelled in recognized sports events (Khelo India, Youth Games, University Games, etc.).

Selection Process:

1. Physical Standard Test (PST):

• • • Male: 170 cm (General), 162.5 cm (Scheduled Tribes)
    • Female: 157 cm (General), 150 cm (Scheduled Tribes)
• Chest and other physical measurements apply based on region and category.

2. Field Trials: Based on performance in respective sports discipline.

3. Medical Examination: Candidates must meet medical standards for eyesight, physical health, and fitness.

Application Fee:

• General & OBC candidates: Rs 100 (non-refundable).
• SC/ST & Female candidates: No fee.
• Payment must be made online through SBI account.

Application Process:

• Interested candidates should submit their application online through the Assam Rifles official website: www.assamrifles.gov.in.
• The application portal will open from 28 September 2024 and will close on 27 October 2024.
• Call letters for the recruitment rally will be issued online.

• Candidates must bring original documents (certificates, payment receipt, call letter) to the recruitment rally.
• Assam Rifles will not provide accommodation or travel assistance for candidates attending the rally.
