The Indian Audit and Accounts Service (IAAS) is one of the Group A Central Services under the UPSC Civil Services Examination. The selection process includes three stages: Preliminary Examination, Main Examination, and Interview. Here’s a detailed breakdown of the syllabus for each stage:
1. Preliminary Examination:
The Preliminary Examination is composed of two papers:
Paper I: General Studies
- Current events of national and international importance
- History of India and Indian National Movement
- Indian and World Geography
- Indian Polity and Governance
- Economic and Social Development
- Environmental Ecology, Biodiversity, and Climate Change
- General Science
Paper II: CSAT (Civil Services Aptitude Test)
- Comprehension
- Interpersonal Skills including Communication Skills
- Logical Reasoning and Analytical Ability
- Decision-making and Problem-solving
- General Mental Ability
- Basic Numeracy
- Data Interpretation
2. Main Examination:
The Main Examination consists of nine papers, of which two are qualifying and seven are considered for ranking.

3. Interview/Personality Test:
- The Interview/Personality Test assesses the candidate’s personality, communication skills, and suitability for the service.
