CSIR-NIIST Eligibility Criteria:
Educational Qualification & Experience

| Technical Assistant | Diploma in a relevant engineering discipline or B.Sc. in Chemistry, Computer Science, IT, Electronics, Applied Electronics, or Instrumentation with at least 60% marks + experience. |
| Technician (1) | 10th Pass + ITI Certificate or 2 years full-time apprenticeship in relevant trade (civil servant, COPA, chemical plant, etc.). |
| Junior Stenographer | 12th Pass + Stenography Proficiency (80 wpm in English/Hindi). |
| Junior Secretariat Assistant (General, F&A, S&P) | 12th Pass + Typing Speed Proficiency (35 wpm in English / 30 wpm in Hindi). |
| Junior Hindi Translator | Master’s Degree in Hindi/English with Diploma/Certificate in Translation OR 2 years of translation experience. |
Age Relaxation

CSIR-NIIST Syllabus:

🔹 Typing Test for Junior Secretariat Assistant:
- English Typing Speed: 35 wpm
- Hindi Typing Speed: 30 wpm
🔹 Stenography Test for Junior Stenographer:
- 80 wpm in English/Hindi (Transcription time: 50 min for English, 65 min for Hindi)
Selection Process for CSIR-NIIST Recruitment 2025:
The selection process consists of written tests and skill/trade tests.
1. Technical Assistant & Technician Selection Process
- Stage 1: Trade/Skill Test (Qualifying Nature)
- Stage 2: Written Exam (Final Merit List Based on Paper II & III Marks)
2. Junior Stenographer Selection Process
- Written Exam (General Intelligence, Reasoning, Awareness, English)
- Stenography Skill Test (Qualifying)
3. Junior Secretariat Assistant Selection Process
- Written Exam (General Awareness, English, Mental Ability)
- Typing Test (35 wpm in English / 30 wpm in Hindi) (Qualifying)
4. Junior Hindi Translator Selection Process
- Written Exam (General Intelligence, Awareness, English, Translation & Descriptive Writing)
