Eligibility Criteria:

1. Age Limit:
   • Internal Candidates: Minimum age of 45 years with at least 2 years of residual service as of the vacancy date (September 9, 2024) before reaching the superannuation age of 60.
   • External Candidates: Minimum age of 45 years with at least 3 years of residual service as of the vacancy date before reaching the superannuation age of 60.
2. Employment Status: Applicants must be employed in a regular capacity (not contractual or ad-hoc) in one of the following:
   • Central Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE), including full-time functional Directors on the Board.
   • Central Government Group ‘A’ Officers, including the Armed Forces and All India Services, as well as officers from Public Sector Banks, Financial Institutions, or Autonomous Bodies.
   • State Public Sector Enterprises (SPSE) with an annual turnover of ₹10,000 crore or more.
   • Private sector companies with an annual turnover of ₹10,000 crore or more. Preference is given to candidates from listed companies.
3.  Educational Qualifications:
   • • Engineering graduate with a strong academic record from a recognized university or institute.
     • Post-graduate or research qualifications in Design, Airworthiness, Production, or Engineering Support of Aircraft/Helicopters are advantageous.

4. Experience:
   • Significant technical or operational experience at a senior management level in a reputable organization.
   • At least five years of experience in the last ten years in Design, Airworthiness, Production, or Engineering Support of Aircraft/Helicopter systems.
   • Experience in research, leading R&D teams, and published research work in reputable journals is desirable.

Selection Process:

• Submission of Application:
  • Applicants must submit their applications online through the PESB website (https://pesb.gov.in/) or submit a printed copy after filling the form online.
  • Applications must be submitted through the proper channel as specified, depending on the applicant’s current employment (e.g., through Cadre Controlling Authority, Administrative Ministry, etc.).
• Shortlisting of Candidates:
  • The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) will shortlist candidates based on eligibility criteria, qualifications, and relevant experience, as per the existing guidelines.
• Interview:
  • Shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview conducted by the PESB.
  • The interview will assess the candidates’ technical knowledge, leadership qualities, and ability to handle the responsibilities of the Director (Engineering, R&D) role.
• Final Selection:
  • Based on the interview performance and credentials, PESB will recommend the selected candidate(s) to the Appointing Authority (Government of India).
  • The final appointment will be subject to approval by the competent authority.
• Conditions Post-Selection:
  • Immediate Absorption: For candidates from the Central Government, Armed Forces, or Public Sector Banks/Financial Institutions, the appointment will be on an immediate absorption basis.
  • Debarment Clause: Candidates who decline the offer after selection may face a two-year debarment from applying for Board-level positions in CPSEs.
