Eligibility Criteria for RRC NFR Apprentice Recruitment 2024

Railway Recruitment Cell (RRC) Northeast Frontier Railway invites applications for Act Apprenticeships across multiple trades under the Apprentices Act, 1961, for the 2023-24 & 2024-25 cycles. Below are the detailed eligibility criteria for the recruitment:

1. Educational Qualifications:

  • For most trades:
    • Passed Matriculation (Class 10) or equivalent under the 10+2 system with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks from a recognized board.
    • Possess a National Trade Certificate (ITI) in the relevant trade issued by NCVT/SCVT.
  • For Medical Laboratory Technician (Pathology/Radiology):
    • Passed Class 12 under the 10+2 system with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology and a minimum of 50% aggregate marks.
    • Must upload Class 10 and Class 12 mark sheets and certificates during the application process.

Note: The minimum 50% aggregate mark requirement is not applicable to SC/ST/PwBD candidates.

2. Age Limit (as of the closing date of application):

  • Minimum Age: 15 years
  • Maximum Age: 24 years
  • Age Relaxation:
    • SC/ST: 5 years
    • OBC: 3 years
    • PwBD: 10 years
    • Ex-Servicemen: Total years of service + 3 years, provided they have served for at least 6 months continuously.

3. Trade-Specific Requirements:

Each trade requires the relevant NCVT/SCVT certification as outlined in the notification. Examples include:

  • Fitter, Turner, Electrician: Must hold ITI certification in the corresponding trade.
  • Welder (Gas & Electric), Carpenter: Relevant ITI certification in the trade.
  • Information and Communication Technology System Maintenance: Requires NCVT/SCVT certification in ICT or equivalent.
