Selection Process for GAIL India Senior Engineer E1 & E2 Grade Recruitment 2024

The selection process for GAIL India’s E1 & E2 Grade positions is designed to identify the most suitable candidates for various technical and managerial roles. Below is the detailed selection process based on the official recruitment notification:

Overview:

General Selection Process:

1. Screening of Applications:
   • Candidates’ applications will be screened based on eligibility criteria, including educational qualifications, experience, and other conditions mentioned in the advertisement.
   • Only candidates meeting all criteria will be shortlisted for the next stages.
2. Assessment Stages:
   Depending on the position, the selection process will include the following stages:
   • Group Discussion (GD)
   • Skill Test (For specific posts)
   • Physical Endurance Test (PET) (For physical roles like Fire & Safety and Security)
   • Personal Interview

Post-wise Selection Details:

1. Senior Engineers and Senior Officers (General Roles):
   • Group Discussion (GD)
   • Personal Interview
2. Senior Officer (Fire & Safety) & Officer (Security):
   • Physical Endurance Test (PET): Tests physical fitness essential for these roles.
   • Personal Interview.
   • Note: PwBD candidates are exempted from the PET.
3. Officer (Official Language):
   • Skill Test (Translation work between English and Hindi).
   • Personal Interview.
4. Other Roles:
   • Candidates may undergo a proficiency test or other assessments relevant to the job role.

Qualifying Marks:

• Group Discussion/Skill Test/PET:
  • 40% for UR/EWS/OBC candidates.
  • 35% for SC/ST/PwBD candidates.
• Interview:
  • 60% for UR/EWS/OBC candidates.
  • 55% for SC/ST/PwBD candidates.

Shortlisting:

• If the number of eligible applicants is large, GAIL may raise the minimum eligibility standards to shortlist candidates for the selection process.
• All shortlisting will be based on the details provided in the application.

Final Selection:

• The final selection of candidates will be based on their performance in the applicable stages of the selection process.
• All stages of the selection process are qualifying in nature, and meeting the minimum qualifying marks in each stage is mandatory.
